Lot of people has different personality and they behave accordingly, here I am discussing few of the personalities of HR Managers towards grievance handling.

A good Listener: A good listener is a kind of HR manager who listens to the
problem from both the sides and tries to calmly reduce the tension level between
both the parties, as he knows its about higher stress level and work pressure which
is causing the problem. He listens calmly and make sure everything is out from the
heart and the grievance is reduced to lowest level.

Judgmental: This personality of HR Manager is judgmental about the grievance
before even knowing the complete scenario. This might happen because of the previous
experiences or might be because of the understanding of the people involved and
their nature and habits. This approach of grievance handling is not considered healthy
as sometimes it can lead to wrong decisions and makes problem even bigger as pre-conceived
judgmental decisions are not good and accurate at times.

Artist: This personality is the best person to handle grievance as he knows
how to manipulate things like an artist and nobody will see that and they will just
appreciate the beauty of it, and hence able to handle grievance properly without
any hassle to himself and others, but to perform in this fashion is not an easy
job as you don’t want to be portrayed as artist or player in the serious matter
such as grievance.

Escaper: These are the kind of HR Managers who does want to get involved
in the matter and hence want to escape from it. They often show themselves very
busy when these kind of situation arises, so that they don’t have to indulge into
it and also maintains their position as if they are willing to help but does not
have the time to do it.

Lawyer: They stand as a pillar in situation like this and will act as a lawyer
to see the case clearly and decide who is right or wrong and where they problem
lies. They are so dynamic that they won’t hesitate to involve more people and ask
for witnesses to solve the case, normally these kinds of HR Managers solve the problem
and do it right but sometime it becomes bigger mess then it was in the beginning,
similar to what happens when we fight a legal case.

Balanced: HR managers who understand the value of Human Resource and emotional
and intellectual quotient, they always chose a balanced approach so parties will
not feel offended and release their stress and issues. In this approach, HR Manager
calmly evaluates things and tries to maintain balanced role without looking more
into right or wrong. The objective is to neutralize things and move on which is
often a good practice to consider.

Careless attitude: These are the HR managers who hardly care about grievance
among employees and they believe that people should solve their problem themselves;
why they need help of others, and hence becomes very careless towards the grievance
and ignorant to the problem. Good at sometimes but not recommended solution for
HR Managers.
